This week we presented to children another exciting summer activity of arts and culture. We began the week by learning about buildings in the world. Children had the opportunity to build for themselves using wooden blocks. We also learned about dance around the world. Among them were a thousand hands dance, Zulu, bamboo dance, limbo, and the fisherman’s dance (dojosukui).

Again, children learned about different types of markets and shopping from other countries. Among these markets were the floating market in Thailand, fish market in New York, supermarket in Japan, the wet market in the Philippines, and open market in Ghana, where people also sell things on their heads.

We crowned the week with AKP mini Olympics. Children learned about the history of the Olympics and finally participated in games in groups at our “AKP Olympic arena.” All Children received medals for an excellent performance. It was an exciting week for children!
