AKS Elementary

2019 AKS Summer School

This year at AKS we had a wonderful summer program. Attendees from all over Aichi came and participated.

During International Week, the students made crafts from many different countries and learned about various cultures from around the world. This included things such as making their own Hawaiian lays, as well as making their own Mexican skull masks. The students were all excited to get such a hands on learning experience for many cultures they had never seen or heard of before.

During Movie Week, the students were able to go through the process of putting together their own movie. They practiced not only script writing and acting, but also got involved in things like the design of the sound and special effects as well. At the end of the week, everyone ate popcorn and gleefully watched the movie that they had worked so hard together to make.

For the last week, Space Week, the students learned many things about space and had the opportunity to design their own space crafts and other space-related projects. At the end of the week, they even designed their own egg lander and tested them to see if their egg would break or not. The students really enjoyed the space theme and proudly wore and displayed the NASA stickers that they received.

Overall, it was one of our best summer school programs yet, and we look forward to even more ambitious programs in the coming years. Thank to everyone who came and joined us. We hope to see you again next year!
