Mochitsuki Experience

Today, the students had the chance to experience making mochitsuki. It was a good opportunity for the students to practice using kisu and usu. They enjoyed swinging the hammer up and down and striking the rice.

They then mixed the freshly pounded mochi with soy sauce, kinako, anko, and radish for four different flavors. They ate that with some delicious tonjiru. It was an exciting day for the students minds and stomachs.
