We had an officer from the police station come to our school, and we learned about traffic rules in a traffic safety class. The pre-school and elementary school students participated in a joint session where police officer taught them about “the five rules for riding a bicycle ” and “the three rules for crossing a pedestrian crossing.” During the crosswalk practice, they were able to confirm safe ways to cross the street by following the rules of stopping, looking, waiting, and by considering things like “what to do if the green light starts flashing midway.” We hope they will remember what they learned today in their daily life, follow traffic rules, and stay safe.
